Double vanity ensuite renovation with timber floating vanity and curved glass shower screen by Spriggs & Co., Adelaide

Bathroom & Kitchen Renovations in the Adelaide Hills

Hills homes come with their own plumbing: septic tanks, rainwater tanks and bottled gas are all common. Spriggs & Co. design and build bathroom, kitchen and laundry renovations with licensed plumbers who plan around them from day one.

Renovations that work with how Hills homes are plumbed

The Adelaide Hills cover a lot of ground, from Crafers, Stirling and Aldgate just up the freeway, through Bridgewater and Hahndorf to Mount Barker. Homes range from older stone and timber cottages in garden settings to newer family builds, and many sit on properties where water, wastewater and gas work differently to a suburban block.

Spriggs & Co. renovate bathrooms, ensuites, kitchens and laundries with the plumbing, waterproofing and gas fitting done by our own licensed team (Licence No. 284188) and finishes planned by Hayley, our in-house interior designer. Distance and timing vary across the Hills, so tell us your town when you get in touch and we'll confirm we can take the job on.

What a Hills renovation needs to plan for

Septic, CWMS or mains sewer

Not every Hills property is on mains sewer. Some homes run on a septic tank or a council community wastewater (CWMS) connection, and a new or moved bathroom has to work with whichever you have. We check this before anything is designed.

Rainwater tanks and pumps

Many Hills homes rely on rainwater, sometimes plumbed to the toilet and laundry or the whole house. We plan new fixtures around your tank, pump and any mains connection, so pressure and supply still work when the renovation is done.

Bottled LPG or natural gas

A lot of Hills kitchens and hot water systems run on bottled LPG rather than mains natural gas. Gas appliances are set up for one or the other, so we confirm your supply before quoting a new cooktop or gas hot water system.

Bathroom renovations in the Adelaide Hills

A bathroom renovation in the Adelaide Hills has a few extra questions to answer before the design is settled: where the waste goes (septic, CWMS or mains sewer), whether the toilet or shower runs on tank water, and how the hot water is heated. As licensed plumbers we answer those at the quote, so the new bathroom works with the property rather than against it.

From there the job runs like any Spriggs & Co. bathroom renovation. Hayley plans the layout and finishes, and the room is stripped back, re-plumbed, waterproofed to Australian Standards, tiled and fitted off. Most complete bathroom renovations take around 3–4 weeks on site once demolition starts, and for a Hills job we plan travel, deliveries and skip access up front.

Bathrooms, ensuites and showers

Complete bathroom renovations, ensuites, small bathrooms and shower-only rebuilds for Hills homes, from older stone and timber cottages to newer family builds.

Home renovations in Stirling and Aldgate

Older homes in Crafers, Stirling and Aldgate often still have their original wet areas. We renovate bathrooms, kitchens and laundries here, and take on larger multi-room renovations.

Mount Barker and Hahndorf

Further along the freeway, homes in Mount Barker and Hahndorf range from older cottages to newer builds. Tell us your town when you enquire and we'll confirm timing and travel.

Renovating in the Adelaide Hills — your questions answered

Which parts of the Adelaide Hills do you cover?

We take on renovations in the Adelaide Hills, which includes towns such as Crafers, Stirling, Aldgate, Bridgewater, Hahndorf and Mount Barker. Travel and scheduling vary across the Hills, so let us know your town when you enquire and we'll confirm straight away whether we can do the job.

Our home is on a septic tank. Can we still add or move a bathroom?

Often, yes, but it needs checking first. A new or relocated bathroom adds to what the septic system or CWMS connection has to handle, and in South Australia work that alters an on-site wastewater system needs council approval before it goes ahead. We look at your setup at the quote and tell you what's involved.

We cook on bottled gas. Can you install a new gas cooktop or hot water system?

Yes. Gas appliance installation is done by our licensed team. Appliances are configured for either LPG or natural gas, so we confirm which supply you have and install to suit, as part of a kitchen renovation or as a job on its own.

Do you renovate older cottages and character homes in the Hills?

Yes. Older Hills homes often have original wet areas with tired waterproofing and pipework. We strip them back, re-waterproof to current Australian Standards and re-plumb, and Hayley chooses finishes that suit the age and setting of the house.

Do you give free quotes in the Adelaide Hills?

Yes. Every quote is free and no-obligation. Tell us your town and what you're planning, and we'll arrange a look at the space and give you a clear, itemised quote up front.

How long does a bathroom renovation in the Adelaide Hills take?

Most complete bathroom renovations take around 3–4 weeks on site once demolition starts, depending on the size of the room, the tiling and any custom joinery. For Hills properties we confirm the wastewater, water supply and gas setup at the quote, so the timeline we give you already allows for them.

Do you do home renovations in Aldgate and Stirling?

Yes. Aldgate, Stirling and Crafers are among the Hills towns we take on, for bathroom, kitchen and laundry renovations as well as larger multi-room projects. Tell us your street when you enquire and we'll confirm timing.
