Spriggs & Co. Plumbing and Renovations (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we handle information collected through our website, spriggsandco.com.au, and in the course of providing our plumbing and renovation services.
Information we collect
When you use one of our enquiry forms, we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, suburb, the service you need, your project details, and any photos you choose to attach. If you call, text, email or message us on Facebook, we keep the details you share with us that way too. When you visit the website, some technical information is collected automatically — such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. This comes from our website host’s standard logs and from Google Analytics (see “Cookies & analytics” below).
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to respond to your enquiries and prepare quotes; plan, carry out and manage the work you request; maintain our business and warranty records; and operate, secure and improve our website. We don’t add you to any marketing mailing list.
Disclosure of information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. When you send the enquiry form on our contact page, it goes through a small website function run by our website host and is emailed to us at admin@spriggsandco.com using the email delivery service Resend; the enquiry forms on our suburb pages work the same way. If an enquiry email can’t be delivered, it is stored securely in JB Digital Barossa’s client portal so it can be followed up. A copy of every enquiry also goes to JB Digital Barossa, the local business that built and looks after this website, so they can check enquiries are arriving and fix any problems, and their client dashboard may also record a short notice of contact-page enquiries (your name, email and message). Beyond these providers and Google (for analytics), we only share your information with trade partners directly involved in your project where that’s needed, or where we are required or permitted to do so by law. Some of these providers (including Cloudflare, Netlify, Resend and Google) store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We use them because they are established services, but we can’t control where they hold data.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the website — for example which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (to city level), what device they use, how they found us, and when someone taps our phone number. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. We use the reports to improve the site, not to identify individual visitors. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), and the site will still work. The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google when a page loads.
Security & retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, and we keep it only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above or to meet our legal obligations.
Enquiry forms and follow-up
When you type your email address or phone number into an enquiry or quote form on this website, we save what you have entered so far (your name, contact details and the details of your enquiry), even if you do not press send. We do this only so that Spriggs & Co can get in touch once to help if your enquiry was interrupted. We never save passwords or payment details. If you clear the form, or tap “Clear” under it, what you typed is deleted. If you do send the form, the unsent copy is deleted straight away. Otherwise, saved details are deleted automatically after 90 days. They are stored securely in Australia by our website provider, JB Digital Barossa, and are not sold, shared or used for marketing lists. To see or delete anything we hold about you, or to ask us not to contact you, email admin@spriggsandco.com and we will action it promptly.
Accessing & correcting your information
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first. If you are not satisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
